“New Family Health Organization Coming to St. Thomas”
St. Thomas, ON – We are pleased to announce that six family physicians are in the process of forming a new Family Health Organization (FHO) at the soon to be completed Elmdale Health Centre. Dr. Melissa Tenbergen will be the lead physician for this new group, which will also include Dr. Mateusz Zajac, Dr. Anusha Perera, Dr. Katrina Huszarik, Dr. Kimberly Thompson, and Dr. Annie Keeler.
The group has recently received Ministry of Health (MOH) approval to practice under the name Elmdale Family Health Organization. They are anticipating final MOH approval to begin practicing within three months.
The medical group is in the process of designing their office space and will be submitting their plans to the City for permitting. It is anticipated the building, located on the former site of Elmdale Public School, will be completed by the end of this year.
The family doctors will be accepting new patients once all approvals have been obtained. Those who are interested are encouraged to sign up for the “Doctor’s Waiting List” by registering on www.elmdalehealth.com. Patients will be contacted by the physician’s office later this fall and into the early part of next year. Future updates will be available on the Elmdale Health Centre website and Facebook page.

It was identified that in spite of best efforts to recruit new physicians, our City lacked the facility to attract new physicians to our community. Local pharmacists Dave Yurek and Darren Dasovich are pleased to announce the opening of Elmdale Medical Pharmacy. This will be in addition to Dave's current location on First Avenue.

Dr. Ken Morrison and Dr. Jeff Balsdon will be relocating their existing medical practices to the new location. Other healthcare services are currently in discussions to join Elmdale Health’s culture of collaboration amongst healthcare professionals. We are all excited that our goal to address the doctor shortage is being met and look forward to the grand opening later this year.
